Description:
Squat, globular jug form, with turned foot edge, pronounced belly, rounded, small circular spout at the top, and applied, ribbed, strap handle attached to the side, there is a suggestion of a scribe mark on the shoulder of the vessel where the handle attaches,covered with a shiney blackish brown manganese lead glaze. Marked on the underside of jug in red paint, "10." and in black ink..... This object was originally in the collection of Burton N. Gates. Original Gates notecard #10 has been lost.
