Description:
Deep, oval silver bowl with flared, serrated rim with applied, molded scrolls at edge of bowl and applied gadrooning at spout, wide pouring lip; double scroll handle with wide shell drop below, inside, and with leaf grip; plain pad at lower juncture; three cast cabriole legs with fleur-de-lis junctures and solid scrolls above pad feet. Hallmarks: leopard's head crowned; date letter "b;" maker's mark "PP;" lion passant. References: see Buhler and Hood description. Comments: this piece is thick and bulky, with its weight in the bottom of the body and in the thick pad feet.
