Description:
From original file: Gilt-lined silver pyriform body cashed with flowers, scrolls, bird and trees; flared serrated rim with high, long and pointed pouring lip; three narrow cabriole legs with trifid feet and engraved pad junctures; double-scroll terminal. Hallmarks: marker's mark "AN/IL;" lion passant; leopard's head crowned; date letter "F" (in script). Comments: Perhaps a study of the cashing could be undertaken (types of birds, etc.). Is there some sort of story here? Very thin and delicate: handle, pouring lip and legs - turn upside down and look at the opposition between the fat, bulbous container and the spindly legs.
