Description: British flintlock pistol. 11" round barrel, smooth bore, with three British proof marks. Black walnut handle and full length stock, bird head butt with engraved brass butt plate. 5 1/4" lock plate, marked with a crown, arrow, G R, and TOWER. Flat hammer. Opposing decorative plate and ramrod missing. Is said to have been dropped by one of the Shay rebellionists in passing through South Hadley. Weight: 36 ozs.
