Description: Rosette (broken and repaired) with eight white petals around hole in center, against a gray background rimmed by four curved white segments. On back, possible marks (indentations) obscured by masking tape. Expert Brigit Crowell has seen photos of the Mount Holyoke rosettes and has confirmed that they are likely to have come from Tell el Yahudiya, the only known site where such rosettes have been found. The rosette inlays would have decorated an architectural surface.
