Label Text:
Persistent in his desire to come closer to the house, Vassiliev finally steps into the print and finds himself standing amidst a pile of debris on the spot where the house once stood. The artist has dragged his actual time into the Chekhovian world. Now it is the house, rather than the artist, that appears as a ghostly silhouette in the background.
