Description:
Province of the Massachusetts Bay Military Commission to "Samuel Mirick Gentleman" to be "Captain of the Fifth Foot Company in the Town of Springfield in the South Regiment of Militia in the County of Hampshire of which John Worthington Esq. is Colonel" issued August 28, 1754. Samuel Mirick (1695/6-1778) married Isabel Ingersol (1701-1790) on Nov. 23, 1725, and they settled in West Springfield where they owned a farm and he held the offices of assessor, constable and surveyor. Both are buried in the Old Agawam cemetery.
