Description:
English delft circular plate with blue decoration. The well is decorated with a man poling a punt beside a tall rock and plants. The curvature has a narrow band of alternating diaperwork and stylized flowers, and the rim has three large scrolling floral sprays with a large scratched-blue leaf in the center. Two plates with the same design are shown in Lipski and Archer, "Dated English Delftware", dated 1754 and 1759.
