Description:
Crown handle, pewter porringer, cast initials "IC" under handle. Pewter porringer, molded mark "IC" on underside of handle. modern paper label #10, Condition: tip of porringer handle is bent. Wayne Hilt, pewter dealer and expert, believes that this porringer was made by a Connecticut pewter - either Isaac Lewis, Meriden, CT, or Luther Boardman of Chester, CT and South Reading, MA Isaac Lewis worked in Meriden, CT from 1834-1852. Luther Boardman worked from 1836-1842 in South Reading, MA and Chester, CT. Luther Boardman made many spoons but not many other forms.
