Label Text:
SKINNER CATALOGUE: An old "Grandfather's" eight day clock, registering hours, minutes, seconds, days of the month, and phases of the moon; the days of the month not now operating. Oak case with 1/2 inch and 3/8 inch mahogany inlaid trimmings, and pine back. Probably of American make. Single, quarter round, fluted pilasters each side of the door; single, full round, slightly tapering, fluted columns each side of the face. Dial decorated in red, green, black, and gold. Phase of the moon disc has two full face moons, a church rustic scene, and an English galleon sea scene. Top finished in opposing scrolls, with round ornamental brass discs at the ends, and a single ball and short spindle finial.
Dial marked "STONEHOUSE, LEEDS" who was a clockmaker in 1798 in Leeds, England. Height 7' 3" Face 20 1/4" x 14 1/4" Cat. 11/4/1936
