Description:
A horizontal dyptych. The left side captures the first character "gong" of the Chinese word "Communism," as appears in white on peeling layers of plastiers and paint of red. The right side is a very thin old man standing at a door, with only pants on and a cigarette in his proper right hand. Behind the old man is a portrait of Chaiman Mao on the back wall.
