Description:
Woman's bonnet of sage green silk with three bright pink roses (left side) and dull yellow-green satin ribbon trim. Bavolet is 3", underlined with off-white sheer cotton. Brim is 5" deep, widens from 7" at point of attachment to crown, to 12". Support material for brim seems to be cardboard of some kind. Silk for brim covering is pieced on outside right and inside left. Crown is about 6" deep and support material is like needlepoint canvas, partially lined with sheer cotton. Roses are dark pink, naturalistically painted cotton petals, interleafed with deteriorating silk chiffon (which once had a satiny opalescence); 2 sprigs of leaves; wire stems and "hips" covered with a waxy substance.
