Description:
Civil War uniform coat made of dark blue fulled (broadcloth) wool. According to the donor, this coat was worn by Noah Baker of Hawley, Massachusetts. Three remaining gilded metal buttons at the top center front closure are marked "WATERBURY BUTTON MFG." This Connecticut Company was established by Aaron Benedict in 1812.
