Description:
This Calene ware guttus, a type of flask) has a squat body with a flat top and vertically ribbed sides. A handle rises from the top and attaches at the shoulder. Also on the shoulder, and extending to the body, is a lion head in high relief, which acts as a spout. The entire surface is black-glazed except for the foot, which is reserved with red paint, keyhole shaped hole in discus, excellent foot, seven feather emblems around interior of discus.
