Label Text:
The actor's name is printed vertically descending at top-right, beneath which is the circular kiwame seal of the censor. The artist's signature is immediately below the circular seal and reads "Toyokuni ga" ('drawn by Toyokuni'). The seal of the publisher — the kanji for "kyū" beneath two overlapping mountain peaks — is to the left of the signature and represents Yamamoto Heikichi of the firm Eikyūdō. It is also possible the seal is that of Yamamoto Kyūbei, a name employed by the publisher from ca. 1805–1811.

Toyokuni produced a series in 1819 with Yamamotoya Heikichi that focused on the actor Nakamura Shikan, one of the names of Nakamura Utaemon III, entitled "Nakamura Shikan onnagori kyōgen kyū henge shosagoto no uchi."
