SKINNER CATALOGUE: A set of balance scales used by the Sealer of Weights and Measures at Union, Maine. Two brass bowls suspended by three iron chains (one missing) with an iron arm and suspension. Six brass weights, the three largest plugged with lead - 2 oz.., 4 oz.., 8 oz.., 1 lb., 2 lb., 4 lb. All stamped W R (William Rex), with a crown, C M (crown measure), S M (sealing master), and C L. Early 18th century. Cat. 7/5/1935.
