Description: Hollow section of a wooden pillar, ridged along the outside. Handwritten on an attached piece of paper: "A piece of the pillar of the old Edwards church in Northampton. The large telescope was made from part of the same pillar. Bought by Mr. J.N. French from the Church Committee."
