Listed in the "Catalogue of Paintings from the Dusseldorf Academy of Fine Arts," a collection shown at the Dusseldorf Gallery in New York (in 1862). The catalogue includes a favorable review of the painting from the New York Albione: "We trust no one will hurry past it" (p. 18). It is not certain exactly when the Dickinsons acquired this painting.
