Label Text:
This painting was acquired by the Dickinsons in 1862. The artist was part of the Dusseldorf School. Susan noted in 1895 that this painting hung in the parlor. Austin left the second Pulian painting and an engraving to Mabel Loomis Todd. The Pulian was removed from the house in Susan's absence. It was later given to Amherst College by Millicent Todd Bingham.
