Label Text:
This print is signed in English "Sadao Watanabe" below the image. To the right of the signature is the artist's seal, which reads "Sadao." At the bottom middle of the print is written "101-28" in pencil, which was likely added by a collector as Watanabe's edition marks are usually written at lower-left of the image in a different format (impression number / total number of impressions).

Watanabe's prints are heavily influenced by Japanese mingei ('folk art'). He is best known for his prints of Christian subjects, such as this one.
