This print is signed "Kunitora ga" ('drawn by Kunitora') at lower-right. The title and the publisher, along with his address, are identified within the margin at right. At lower-left is also visible the seal of publisher Yamamotoya Heikichi of the firm Eikyūdō: the kanji "kyū" beneath interlocking sickles. Above the publisher's seal is the circular kiwame seal of the censor.

This print comes from an untitled series of "uki-e" ('perspective pictures' — drawings that integrate elements of Western-style single-point perspective) published during the 1820s. Another impression of this design is held in the collections of the Edo Tokyo Hakubutsukan (acc. no. 90203060). Here, Kunitora has employed the traditional iconography of the Umewaka Shrine, a Buddhist pilgrimage site on the banks of the Sumida River, with the memorial mound behind the shrine indicated by a large, willow tree.
