Label Text:
It is certain that this print is a later re-issue of an original design, which dates to the 1770s, owing to the predominance of Prussian blue ink throughout the composition. Further, as this pigment — known in Japanese as "Berurin ai," or "Berlin blue" — was only introduced to Japan in the 1820s, it is clear that this impression was executed posthumously.
