This impression is signed at lower-left of the left panel in black with the artist's seal in red. Both read "Terukata." However, these characters may also be pronounced as "Kihō," as the artist has elsewhere been identifed (Marks, Andreas, "Publishers of Japanese Woodblock Prints: A Compendium," Hotei Publishing(2011): 129). This print is one of many unserialized triptychs of the Russo-Japanese war published by Fukuda Hatsujirō in 1904; other contributing artists include Kiyochika, Kokunimasa, and Kyōkō (Ibid: 129).
Immediately to the left of the publisher's seal is that of the woodblock cutter, Watanabe Takisaburō. To the left of his seal is the seal of the publisher, giving the date of April, 1904 (Meiji 37), as well as the publisher's address. A telling, modern addition to the publisher's seal are the five characters written vertically immediately to the left of the two-peaked shape: Fukuda Hatsujiro's telephone number.
