Description:
Press-molded quintal; vase-shaped form tapering to a rectangular base with projecting half-round ends; covered entirely with yellow glaze; decorated with overglaze black enamel; black painted bands decorate the top of each projecting "finger," the tapered section of the quintal, and the base; the sides are decorated with transfer printed scenes; one depicts a girl feeding chickens; the reverse depicts a girl holding a lamb; white label on the underside of the quintal reads "12335"; black mark on the underside of the quintal reads "20" (probably a painter's tally mark); Condition: some enamel loss on the black bands. The image may be taken from a contemporary print source.
