Description:
According to the Records of the 2nd Congregational Church in Deerfield (South Deerfield), on July 17th 1818, Dennis Arms and John Anderson were appointed a Committee to procure furniture for the Communion Table. This Committee was instructed to prepare a subscription paper to raise money to pay for sd [said] furniture." Circular, shallow, cast and lathe turned pewter dish for the distribution of the bread during communion, the dish has a beaded rim, flat rim, shallow bouge, and large circular well, the dish is devoid of any decoration or engraving, is stamped twice, "THOMAS.D BOARDMAN." with an eagle and shield in the center, there is also an "X" between the two marks.
