Description: Tapering cylindrical tinned sheet iron cream pot or small pitcher with a round base, applied, strap handle, and beak shaped spout, there is also a hinged lid with an inner flange, round in shape with a small circular finial at the edge of the lid near the spout, the pot is composed of a sheet of iron that is seamed on the side, there is a turned over rim (perhaps with a strengthening wire inside) at the upper edge and along the side edges of the handle, the exterior of the cream pot is painted with a ground coating of brownish black asphaltum which has darkened over time, painted enamels in white, yellow and red decorate the lid and the sides of the pot, the lid is painted with a six yellow leaves in a comma shape, the sides has large red stylized red cherries with white stripes and yellow leaves, the interior of the pot is very rusted and there is a dent at the base under the spout, the paint is in relatively good shape, and perhaps enhancement of the painted decoration has occurred at a later time.
