Description:
Thrown conical-shaped bowl with thick curved vertical rim, sides steeply slope to narrow base, base is very small in diameter, interior is covered with a thin - almost patchy layer of lead glaze, no evidence of decoration, does not appear to be a typical American pottery form (looks like a small sized milk pan), pottery is fairly light in weight. Condition: good condition, there are glaze losses in the interior of bowl, some losses to the rim. Could possibly be a Moravian piece of pottery. Similar shapes are found among the pottery sherds at Ephrata Cloister in Pennsylvania.
