Description:
Molded redware flower pot in an oval shape, pot is molded in the form of a woven basket with a twisted upper rim with a scroll handle on either end, pot is decorated with dark green paint, most of which has flaked off, inscribed “Col. Southboro ?” on inside of pot. Originally part of the Burton N. Gates collection. Original Gates notecard for #94 reads, "Flower Basket. (oblong as a clothes basket)/ Col. Southbridge 1910. Red clay: no glaze. possibly originally/ painted. Moulded in form of a woven basket. Prepared to/ hang; pierced, handles).
