Description:
Thrown redware cylindrical jug with large circular mouth, slightly swelling sides, and beaded edge to base, attached strap handle, covered with medium brown lead glaze, very plain object without decoration, pencil inscription on base of jug reads: "Col in/ Brockton/ 1914." This object was originally part of the Burton N. Gates Collection. Current attribution provided by American ceramics scholar Justin Thomas, 1/16/2019.
