Description:
Small ladle or tasting spoon, composed of a wrought iron handle with curved narrow tip at the end for hanging on the wall, long shaft terminates in a circular bowl of hammered brass with three circular copper rivets, on the reverse of the bowl is a t-shaped piece of wrought iron with three corresponding copper rivets. These forms for cooking were made by braziers up and down the east coast of early America. It is difficult given its lack of decoration or markings to pinpoint a place of manufacture or specific date of manufacture.
