Description:
Red-figure ware kylix, or drinking cup, with running figure of a woman in the central field

The lip of the kylix is black except for some visible chipping to the edges. The black interior of the cup consists of a tondon within which a figure of a woman is depicted running to teh right with her head turned to the left over her shoulder. She wears a peplos, bracelets and a fillet in her hair. The figure itself is stocky with a long, pointed nose and flat feet. Around the tondo near the border is inscribed "kalos kalos" (beautiful, beautiful). The shallow body of the kylix, the low stem and the flaring foot are black. The inside of the handles, the edge of the foot and the stem are reserved; the bottom of the foot is partly glazed and partly reserved.
