Description:
Rectangular pewter platter that can be filled with hot water through an opening on the long side, which was used to keep the food warm after being placed on the table. The platter has two levels separated by a rack, two handles, and stands on four feet. It is stamped on the base: "MADE IN LONDON/ XX" and "SUPER FINE HARD METAL". Probably made by John Townsend, London.
