Description:
One of three spoons (no record for HD 59.205B on mimsy as of 2/18/12) with rounded-end handle and molded drop on the back of the eliptical bowl, which is marked "S.G" in a rectangle, and engraved with the initials "M / A*N" on the back of the upturned handle. This mark was originally attributed to Samuel Gilbert (1775-1850) of Hebron, Connecticut; however, Gilbert did not start working as a silversmith until about 1798 and the spoons are circa 1760.
