Label Text:
Associated with Fluxus, an international community of experimental artists focused on artistic process over product, artist Geoffrey Hendricks is best known for his multimodal use of cloud imagery in his performance, collage, and installation work, earning him the nickname “Cloudsmith.” While the Museum’s sculptural assemblage is unique in content and color palette, Moon, Tire, Root. (Heavy Duty) offers a monochromatic nod to Hendricks’s more characteristic use of aerial compositions in its inclusion of two tiny watercolor skyscapes (SSW).
