SKINNER CATALOGUE:
A long South Sea Island hunting or fishing arrow. Bamboo throughout and bound with woven flat reed, stained black and yellow. Notched at one end, long tapering sharp point at the other. Extending back from the point are five pairs of bone barbs, taped in place with brown cloth, which is decorated with cream colored dye. Presented by Mrs. Rounds of Holyoke. Brought back from the Solomon Islands by Dr. Frederick Peabody Drowne, of the Whitney Sanford Expedition. Presented by Alice Rounds McMonegle. Cat. 8/11/1937.
