SKINNER CATALOGUE:
A heavy stone war club of the pre-European culture of Patagonia, Argentina, South America. Very similar in shape and construction to the stone war clubs of the American Indians and the East Indian natives. Long head of dark polished stone, cylindrical in shape, ground down at one end to a dull cutting edge. Mounted through a hole in a more recent black hand hewn handle, lashed with varnished rawhide, bound for 7" just above the grip with snake skin and a rawhide thong which terminates in a wrist loop. Head: 10.5" long, 3" x 2 7/8" diam. Cutting edge: 1 7/8". Cat. 4/4/1936.
