Description: The lip, the handles and the inside of this tall, slim red-figure ware skyphos, or drinking cup, are black except for some visible losses of glaze. In the center of the main field on side A, a woman is depicted running. The figure's right arm is extended and in her left hand she holds a mirror; the hair is decorated with a diadem and the clothing consists of a tunic and a mantle over it. Side B of the picture panel is very similar to side A except for the figure's headpiece and the torch held in her right hand. Both of the women move quite easily and their eyes are rendered in profile rather than frontally. Underneath each figure, two polychrome bands serve to reinforce the illusion of ground. The foot of the skyphos is of one degree; the edge is reserved and the bottom is partly reserved and partly glazed.
