Description:
George, No. 9151
A young woman (l.), with crossed wrists and down-cast eyes, bends her knees to an elderly man wearing a sword who bows, chapeau bras. Two women effect the introduction. All three wear flowers and feathers and have a bedizened appearance. A scene in the Assembly Rooms, Derby, where 'the most approved etiquetts of country assemblies receives...every due attention" (p. 192). See Nos. 9152, 9153.
