This print is unsigned and bears no other marks except for the unidentified seal at lower-right which reads "shi ki." The inscription at left describes the autumn wind, hinting at seasonal change and the true subject of the print: the lunar months. The numbers of the long intercalary months are disguised as ornamental crests on the obi of the beauty's robe. Additionally, monkeys are often associated with the new year, adding an extra dimension of humor and artistic interpretation of the passage of time as the monkey appears to be tugging at the girl's kimono, as if unwilling to be led forward.
