Description: Brown tree branches with gold and orange leaves against a blue sky. At upper center, a color image of a cat’s is affixed. The face peers out from within a wooden (?) structure with a jaggedly-edged hole. The image is applied on top of the branches at right and bottom, but sits beneath a cut edge that traces the outline of the tree at left and top. An image of a conical shaped woven structure is affixed at lower center. An indistinguishable tan linear shape (perhaps a human figure) can be seen on its left edge. Frame: Dark wood frame with visible grain and a soft ogee profile. Back: Four piece of masking tape frame the edges. The background is a printed sheet from the Bulletin historic-pilologique, numbered 224, with references to “Musees asiatique et numismatique Séance du 10 (22) janvier 1851,” “Lecture ordinaire,” “Rapport,” “Proposition,” Correspondence.” A vertical rectangle of paper is affixed at upper left with an image of two brown owls sitting on a tree branch with a starry dark blue sky. Below this, a square of paper is affixed with an image of an eclipse on blue background with clouds at corners. Below this, and hugging the left edge, a vertical strip of paper stained blue with fragments of printed text. A striated vertical line of black ink is drawn over the background but under the affixed pieces along the left edge and borders a band of blue and gray watercolor. A rectangular image of a man looking through binoculars is at lower right.
