Description:
The stained glass panel showcases a heraldic roundel, outlined by two concentric bands adorned with a sequence of yellow leaves. At the heart of the piece is a shield divided into two sections by a horizontal blue band. Below the band, there is one four-petal red flower, and above it, there are two. A helmet surmounts the shield, from which decorative mantling flows, and atop the helmet, a bird with a ring in its beak is perched on a branch as part of the crest. Around the shield, a band carries an inscription in a lower part. The entire piece is set within a circular frame, segmented by black leading that follows the outer circular motif. (Shinsaku Kataoka '26)

Inscription: Ilse V Eicksteden Se Husfru (Ilse Von Eicksteden, his Lady of the House).

Heraldry: (von Eicksteden?): Or a fess azure in chief two roses gules barbed and seeded argent in base one of the same; crest: a helm to dexter crowned by a wreath of the colors, a parrot collared and holding in his beak a ring all argent between four oak leaves or; mantling of the colors

Label Text:
The inscription below the coats of arms refers to Ilse von Eicksteden, who is described as “his Lady of the House” (a woman at the head of a household). The preposition “his” implies that the panel had a counterpart, a panel devoted to von Eicksteden’s husband.
