Description: The portfolio of 15 reproductions of woodcuts was printed by the Meriden Gravure Company, Meriden, Connecticut and printed in black ink (two in black and red ink) This edition also includes an wood engraving printed from a block at the Gehenna Press, Northampton, Massachusetts. The folio also includes title and colophon pages and is packaged in a cloth-covered folio case. The reproductions represent smaller versions of Baskin's woodcuts from the 1950's including Man of Peace, The Strabismic Jew, Mantegna at Erimitani, Hydrogen Man, Everyman, Terrified & Frightened Man, The Poet Laureate, Leonard Baskin (self-portrait 1952), Mourning Woman, Angel of Death, Death of the Poet Laureate, Torment, Tormented Man, Hanged Man and Haman. Letterpress printing is used for texts printed on the colophon, title page, and on each print.
