Description:
Lakshmi, Goddess of Prosperity (Dipa Lakshmi)
For women's rituals, especially those honoring the goddesses (this figure was probably dressed and adorned). Bronze figures like this represents Dipa Lakshmi (she who holds a lamp), a form of Lakshmi, the goddess of wealth and happiness and wife of the Hindu God Vishnu. The lighting of lamps dispels darkness and protects against demons.
