Narrative Inscription:  Base: inscribed with a horizontally arranged text incorporating a vertical cartouche followed by two additional signs. Reading from right to left, the text says "Menkheperre chosen of Amun." The name Menkheperre refers to Tuthmosis III, but the phrase "chosen of Amun" is more typical of the Ramesside Period (Dyn. 19-20), suggesting that this is one of many commemorative scarabs honoring Tuthmosis III after his death.
