Mariko is no. 21 in the Fifty-three stations of the Tokaido series in the Hoeido edition. Two travelers is having refreshments at a wayside tea-house, served by a woman carrying a child on her back. Another traveler has just departed. Plum trees stand beside the tea-house and a grey hill rises behind.
