Description:
Combination tempera and fresco on plaster reddish-brown figures against pale orange background. Dancing Satyrs: at left: goat satyr with horns, beard, shaggy limbs, goat hoofs leaps to right playing double pipes, before him on ground line, syrinx; in center facing left two goat satyrs in ephedrisnos pose (head of carrying satyr lost in break at this point, traces of upraised right arm of satyr carried on the back of the first); at right satyr rushes to left brandishing whip in upraised right hand, i.e. in direction of pair of satyrs in center, on ground line before him, spare whip. Mounted in walnut frame.
