A horizontal interior view: two samurai seated in the inner rooms of a residence (Momoi Wakasanosuke conferring with his chief councillor Kakogawa Honzo); a woman (Tonase the wife of Kakogawa Honzo) eavesdropping on the conversation between a young man and a woman (Konami, Tonase's daughter, and her betrothed lover, Rikiya, the son of Oishi Yuranosuke).
