Description:
Small oval portrait of Susan Minot Lane (1832-1893), print on paper and mounted on board, inscribed on the back: "Susan, taken the year I went to Cambridge & first visited her there. 1855 That was a year before we went to Chicago. Compare this with early pictures of your father." Lane was the life-long friend and companion of Miss C. Alice Baker (1833-1909).
