Description:
Framed miniature portrait of Horatio Nelson Carlton (1798-1846), the son of Enos Carlton (1756-1811) and Abigail Taylor (b.1727) of Haverhill, Massachusetts, who married Lucinda Johnson (1804-1846) in 1823. Their daughter Mary Adeline (b.1827) married Martin Stoddard Howard (1830-1919) in 1855, and their great-grandson was the donor Martin S. Howard of Steubenville, Ohio.
