Description:
Oval-shaped platter with scrafitto designs; interior with brown and green design on cream ground, upper panel is stylized house with palms on each side, lower panel is stylized floral design. Alernating green and brown ovals around the sides. Sides of platter are pinched in and have drilled holes on one side for hanging. Bottom unglazed. Similar piece in collection of the Art Institute of Chicago, 1923.1535, ca. 1830. Perhaps from town of Cornoneo.
